HOD's Message

Welcome to the Postgraduate Department of Psychology at Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University). Our department is dedicated to nurturing competent, ethical and socially responsible psychology professionals. Through a blend of rigorous academic training, supervised clinical and counselling practice, research engagement and community outreach, we prepare students to address the complex mental health and behavioural challenges of contemporary society.

As the Head of the PG Department of Psychology, my vision is to build a department grounded in excellence, relevance, and care. I believe that a postgraduate department should not only consume knowledge but also contribute to its creation through meaningful research, critical inquiry, and professional practice.

We are committed to fostering research in areas such as mental health and well-being, family systems, Indian psychology, child and adolescent development, clinical interventions, and workplace psychology. Through conferences, field exposure, professional identity workshops, and a strong culture of supervision, we aim to bridge academic learning with real-world practice. Our goal is to nurture practitioners, researchers, and professionals who contribute meaningfully to individual well-being and societal progress. "Psychology is not just the study of the mind; it is the commitment to understanding people and creating positive change in their lives."
