The Academic Heart of Kristu Jayanti
The Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University) Library strives to offer exceptional service by acquiring, organizing, and providing access to information resources specializing in science, social sciences, commerce, management and emerging disciplines through state-of-the-art technologies that support learning, teaching, research, and innovation.
The library is the heart of the institution where studying, learning, exploration, and discovery come together under one roof. As a vibrant centre of interdisciplinary engagement, it empowers learners from all disciplines and fosters lifelong learning.
Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University) has 4 Libraries - Science Block Library, PG Block Library, Humanities Block Library, and the Admin Block Library. The libraries can accommodate more than 1030 students and have facilities like internet and Wi-Fi services, symposium halls for group discussion, locker facility, computer lab, reprography facility, current affairs section, etc. The library subscribes to electronic resources from J GATE, Springer, EBSCO, ProQuest, N-List, RMIT, and other institutions for its students and faculty through IP access. The library activities are computerized, and the catalogue is available online.
The Libraries currently have over 1 lakh or more collection of books, journals, periodicals, conference proceedings, project reports, institutional repositories, electronic resources like e-books, e-journals, CD-ROMs, Standards, and cases, etc.

What we offer
Circulation Service
The library follows an Open Access policy. You can pick a book of your choice from the shelves and may refer to it in the library or borrow them.
Reference Service
Reference material like dictionaries, yearbooks, encyclopaedias, hand books and manuals are available in the reference section. The library staff will help to find information which is available in-house.
Reprographic & Printing Service
Photocopying and printing facility is available at reasonable cost in the library. This service is limited to library materials without violating the copy right law.
Institutional Repository
Faculty publications (Institutional repository) and other publications of the university are available online through the library OPAC.
Off-Campus Access
Faculty and research scholars have facility of off-campus access to many databases and e-journals by using remote access server. For any clarification please send your request to library@kristujayanti.com
Information Desk
Provides an expanded, integrated service point of the library. This service focuses on helping researchers locate specific journals, books, search databases and capture search results at their point of need, as a complement to the in-depth research assistance available from the Reference Desk.
Document Delivery Services
KJU library arranges photocopies of articles from journals, conference proceedings that are not available in its collection from different sources. This service is offered within the purview of copyright laws. To make a request please email to library@kristujayanti.com
Library Awareness
As part of our user awareness program, the library regularly organizes orientation / Training programs on library resources and services. Members can meet the Librarian for discussions.
News Paper Clippings
The Press Cutting Service plays a vital role like Selective Dissemination of Information (SDI), Current Contents Service, Book Alert Service, etc.
Library Facilities
Book Bank Facility
Library provides book bank facility to economically backward class and SC/ST Category students for the whole semester.
Xerox Facility
Photocopying and printing facility is available at reasonable cost in the library. This service is limited to library materials without violating the copy right law.
Online Reservation
Online reservation can be done through web OPAC for a book which is already lent out. Reserved books will be kept separately on the circulation counter for 2 days for each reserved member.
Inter Library Loan (ILL)
The library has a membership with other Institutional libraries. You can send a request to the librarian for the books, journals or articles which are not available in our library library@kristujayanti.com
Symposium Hall
The library has a symposium hall for its faculty and students. The symposium hall is used for group discussion and presentation by faculty and students.
Internet & Wifi Facility
The Internet and Wi-Fi service is available in all the libraries.

Library Rules & Regulations
- Library is a Place of Individual Study, Library members should maintain an atmosphere of dignity, peace and silence within the Library.
- Kindly place your personal belongings in the Locker/Cupboard provided in the library, the library is not responsible for any loss of item.
- Identity Card is compulsory for getting access to the library. All library users must enter their names, department and Id number in the attendance register at entry gate.
- The Library Follows Open Access System.
- Use of Cellular Phones and audio instruments with or without speaker or headphones is strictly prohibited in the library.
- Own Textbooks, printed materials and issued books are not allowed inside the library.
- Users must take care of library materials and must not deface them by underlining, writing or drawing in them by removing any part of them, or in any other way.
- Library Premises are under CCTV surveillances.
- Faculty may borrow up to 10 books for a period of 1 month, and renewal shall be done at the time of its return.
- UG students 3 books and PG Students 4 Books can barrow for 10 Days.
- Readers will be held responsible for any damage or mutilation of the document noticed at the time of returning.
- Books removed from the shelves by users, if not required for reference, should be kept on the book trolley or on the table nearest to them. Please don’t try to shelve them yourself. Please remember that a book misplaced is a book lost.
- Co-operation of users is solicited to keep the library premises clean.
- Eatables, beverages or tobacco in any form are not allowed inside the library.
- No-dues certificate will be issued at the time of leaving the institute only on return of all the materials borrowed and payment of overdue charges made, if any.

Library Resource Usage Optimization Committee
1. About the committee: The Library Resources Usage Optimization Committee was constituted in 2021. It promotes the effective utilization of library online as well as offline resources. It ensures that all facilities provided by the college library will be used judiciously by Faculties and Students of the college for academic purposes.
2. Goals: a) To create awareness among faculty members and students about the physical and virtual library; b) To encourage the students to use library resources for their professional growth; c) To encourage the use of databases and journals for creative activities and research; d) To ensure that student and faculty registers are updated and to increase more footfalls to the library.
