Head, Department of English
Welcome to the Department of English at Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University). The Department offers both Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes in Language and Literary studies in English, Comparative and Cultural studies. We explore literary trajectories in English Studies with a tangential focus on interdisciplinary approaches. The courses we offer are skills-based and value-addition based.
The academic trajectory that the Department of English marks changes annually — the motto@2025 being “Vitam Redit” (Life Returns) — suggestively intersectional and interdisciplinary in its approach to English Studies. Through theatre, live exhibitions, skill studios, international lectures and student-led platforms, we nurture intellectually curious, confident and well-rounded individuals.
I invite you to join a department where language, literature and culture become pathways to critical thinking, creative expression and meaningful contribution to society and professional life.
