Department of Physical Sciences / B.Sc. Computer Science, Mathematics
The B.Sc. Computer Science & Mathematics (Dual Major) programme provides an integrated foundation in two highly complementary disciplines. Computer Science builds computational thinking, programming skills, algorithms, operating systems, databases, AI/ML basics, and software development. Mathematics strengthens analytical reasoning through calculus, algebra, discrete mathematics, differential equations, vector calculus, numerical methods, modelling, and optimization.
This interdisciplinary programme prepares students for technology, analytics, quantitative modelling, scientific computing, AI/ML, government sectors, and research careers. The B.Sc. is a three-year degree programme. However, as per the provisions of the new National Education Policy (NEP 2020), a student may continue into the fourth year and earn a B.Sc. Honours degree.
Integrated foundation in Computer Science and Mathematics — computational thinking paired with analytical reasoning.
Strong theoretical foundation with programming labs, math practicals and computational tools (Python, Java, SQL, MATLAB/Octave, R).
Three-year B.Sc. degree with the option to continue into the fourth year and earn a B.Sc. Honours degree under NEP 2020.
Graduates pursue flexible pathways across IT, analytics, finance, modelling, research and academia.
A dual-major B.Sc. integrating computational thinking with rigorous mathematical foundations for technology and research careers.
